U.S. disappoints in World Cup.
In a time when the U.S. team could build on its fan base, they simply did not play to expectations. With questionable
player moves and a lack luster performance from stars such ac Donavon, Beasley, and Reyna the U.S. could only manage a 0-2-1
record. The tie with Italy was their best performance despite the fact that their only goal in that game was scored by the
Italians on an own goal. The U.S. team has 4 years to pick up the pieces and will have to do so without key leaders including
McBribe, Pope, and Keller. A new coach will probably replace Arenas after such a poor showing and combined with youthful
talent that will be needed to replace the exiting veterans will have to rebuild the United States standing in the soccer world.
