Mike Doughty's release of Haughty Melodic is one of the few recent albums that you'll listen to from start to finish without skiping a song. The album is represented by "Looking at the World from the bottom of a Well" and "Busting up a Starbucks" on the radio, but several if not all the songs could recieve equal air time. My personal favorates are "Sunken-Eyed Girl" and "Grey Ghost". The demise of Soul Coughing was a sad time for me, but Doughty's solo debut with more evolved lyrics has taken a further step. If you were a fan or Soul Coughing than this is a must own album for your collection. Even if you weren't a fan give this album a chance.****
